They stay on your device. All of them. To do its job the app has to look at your photo library, so it asks for permission the first time you open it. What it does with that access is limited to your own screen:
No screenshot, preview, thumbnail or file name is transmitted anywhere. There is no server to transmit it to.
The app cannot delete a photo on its own. Every deletion goes through your phone's own confirmation — iOS asks "Allow Screenshots Cleaner to delete N photos?", Android shows the equivalent — and nothing happens unless you agree. Deleted screenshots then sit in your Recently Deleted album for 30 days, where you can still get them back.
If you grant access to only some photos ("Limited" on iOS, "Selected photos" on Android), the app sees only those. It will tell you it is working with a partial view rather than pretending it found everything.
The app reads the text inside a screenshot so it can tell a receipt from a one-time code from a chat, and so you can copy something out before deleting the image. This happens entirely on your device, using the text recognition built into the operating system (Vision on iOS, ML Kit on Android).
The recognised text is held in memory while you are looking at that screenshot and is not saved to a file, not sent anywhere and not retained after you close the app. There is no cloud AI service involved at any point.

All of it is deleted when you delete the app. None of it is sent anywhere, and none of it identifies you.
Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no login, no advertising and no usage analytics in Screenshots Cleaner. We cannot see your screenshots, how many you have, or how you use the app.
One thing is collected, and only if you make a purchase: the record that a purchase exists. It is handled by our payments provider RevenueCat (section 5) and is tied to a randomly generated number, not to you. This is the "Purchases" entry you will see on our App Store privacy label, listed as data not linked to you.

There are no advertisements, no trackers and no analytics SDKs in Screenshots Cleaner.
Screenshots Cleaner is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to hold or delete.
Because your data never leaves your device, you are in full control of it:
We hold no copy, so there is no request to send us. Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are governed by their policies.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
